Happy Sunday Y'all

I hope today finds you cool and relaxed. According to my wall clock it's currenlty 97 degrees on our balcony. It's toasty outside and the humidity isn't helping a great deal . We're staying inside where it's nice and cool and the air conditioner runs non-stop. I'm sporting my Prior jersey in honor of his return. Currently he's doing well. It's into the 5th and neither team has scored. I guess those broken elbows don't really mean much now a days.

I've fallen pretty heavy into burning dave shows again. It's a lot easier than it was in 96/97 when I first got started. Mailing tapes everywhere around the country and hoping that someone would actually send them back when they were done. I remember when I bought my first cd burner actually. It was $250 for a 2x burner. I needed it for trading purposes damnit! Then I kind of fell out of it for many many years. Now that I've stumbled upon Dreamingtree.org I'm a downloading/burning machine. Hot damn!

Hello Again

It's been a busy few days and I finally have time to say hola. Saturday found my girlfriend and myself venturing down to the glorious town of Wapello, Iowa. One of her friends from college was getting married so we were more than happy to attend. I'd have to say that the best part of the event was the wedding party leaving in their Cyclone tail-gating bus. Driving through a fairly strong Hawkeye part of the state. Of course, other than Ames, I'm fairly certain the entire damn state is a Hawkeye fan. We stayed at the Roy El motel, a wonderful little gem that somehow got stuck in the 70s. Our room featured some lovely pea green/baby shit colored shag carpeting. We didn't have anything on the walls or even a clock. We were told however that some other rooms are in fact themed. One with a forest on the wall complete with camoflauge blankets. Yep, this is the Ritz Carlton of the south!

On Sunday we ventured up to my hometown of Waterloo to see the parents and hand out father's day gifts, spending the majority of out time floating around the pool and baking ourselves nicely. Nothing overly exciting, but overall a relaxing day. Kind of nice considering I generally work at least one day a weekend. It was good to have the whole thing off.

Monday and Tuesday I doubled at work, leaving me impressivley tired with some slighlty tired legs. Today is my day off so a good time to recoup. So far it's consisted of burning a whole lotta cds and watching a lil Top Gun. I hope your days are going as quietly as my own.

Something else annoying

It turns out that I am fairly annoyed by a team of 30 high school soccer girls that come in 10 minutes after close and are louder than hell. The whole situation causing my other tables to be annoyed and tip me very little. Oh, and let's not forget that the coach who paid for this team didn't feel any need to tip any extra at all for us staying an hour after close just to serve them, and then another hour to clean everything up. Some day I'm going to write a book on proper tipping....

For Those Paying Attention

The time is now 7:30, the meterologists are finally correct. The sun is out... Did I mention that it is 7:30 PM?

Cloudy Day

Despite the weather reports for today, there has been an impressive lack of sun thus far. It's not a big deal really, I just wish the weathermen could get it right once a week or so. You know, to save face.

A busy morning of shopping is done, complete with a new outfit to wear to a wedding on Saturday and a nice collection of gifts for father's day. (On a related note, my dayplanner calendar stated that last sunday was "Children's Day." Why was I not informed of this day before, and why did I not receive anything....)

As you may have noticed my blog is going threw a few changes as I try to make it more my own and less of a template. So while I tinker I'm going to watch my cubs fall behind by a few more runs...

Good day

Touch and Go

So when I originally thought of having a blog, I thought it'd be fun and I'd have numerous stories and lil bits that would fun to put out for the three of you to read.... However it seems I'm not the great blogger the world has been waiting for. I promise to try and get better, just hang in there!

For all you DMB Fans...

Check out www.dmbgame.com. You can enter your thoughts for the night's setlist up to 2 hours before the show starts. As the songs are played you get points for correct choices and correct positioning. It's kind of fun to do for shits and giggles. Plus you can see how well you truly know the band...

Secret Agent Man

So for all of you iTunes people out there, I would strongly suggest visiting the radio section and listening to the Secret Agent station. It'll get your groove on. It's mostly some jazz type music with occasional snippets from Bond movies thrown in for good measure. If you turn the lights down low and sneak about your place, it's almost like your important. Or mysterious. Or even importantly mysterious.

Not the Bahamas

My girlfriend and I along with a couple of friends spent the weekend at my parent's house with a pool. Aside from the rain, wind, and clouds it was pretty enjoyable. I almost have something resemebling a tan... Almost...

Lil sore

Funny how getting old just kind of sneaks up on you. As my room mate and I threw the ball around yesterday, it seemed like a good time. OF course that was until the ball took an unexpected bounce and drilled me in the knee cap sending me to the ground where I proceeded to roll over backwards until I got stuck on my neck. As you might imagine waking up this morning was a treat. The neck is sore, but still attached so there's a small victory. My body in general is just kind of eh. I miss the days of being 8. I don't think I ever got sore then, and I sure as hell did a lot more.... Damn the oldness
