Now Playing: "Denial" -- Cool For August -- Grand World

Judge me if you will

And I know you will... But as I spend this morning before work doing laundry, sending e-mails and other random stuff I've had iTunes a rockin in the background. I've listened to Caroline's Spine, Garth Brooks, Guns N Roses, Days of the New, Bon Jovi and nothing has gotten me fired up today more so than Yanni. *Snicker here* Seriously, the music gets my juices goin, makes me want to stand up and move, conduct my invisible little orchestra and have a good time. Gets me ready for the day. Damnit, its good stuff!

Click it

So, the little slogan "Click it, or Ticket" is catchy and all, but I fell "Click it, OR DIE!" would be much more effective!

NHL

Does anyone else wonder why in the hell the NHL decided to sign a contract with OLN to broadcast their post-season games? I'm not an avid hockey watcher by any means, but I will admit that ever since high-school, I've watched quite a few playoff and Stanley Cup games. They're fairly exciting to watch, I'll admit that. I've even stayed up for the mammoth 3 OT games. But now, since they are on OLN, I never know they're on, and if I happen across them while flipping channels, I rarely stop because I know the commentators are nowhere near the quality or as fun to listen to as ESPNs. In short, Boo NHL! I see why you're at the bottom of the professional sports totem pole!

Interview

I have an interview on Tuesday (most likely) of next week for a job in the real world. Its kind of exciting to possibly get a job that actually takes a college degree, or at least isn't hurt by one. Its in Cedar Falls and would be with a company that I know a fair amount about. The position itself isn't overly glamorous, but could be a decent entry spot and a good stepping stone to a successful career, so that's fun. What else is fun is the thought of having a job that I work weekdays at. There shouldn't be a problem with attending events on the weekends that way, like there is with my current job. I would also have nights off, which would be cool because there is a good amount of television programming that I would like to watch, but don't really have the time to since I work four out of the five weeknights currently. Not that I'm complaining. I'm quite happy to have a job that I make as much as I do at for now. It's been good to me that past couple of years and the people are fun and make it fun. Perhaps I'll speak more on that at a later point, but for now I must go do the work. Have a splendid day all!

Commencement

C-SPAN 2 this morning rebroadcast the commencement ceremony for Marymount University, at which Colin Powell was the speaker. I thoroughly enjoy watching good speakers, whom I feel are few and far in between. I certainly am not one of them. I really enjoy the fluidity and ease with which they speak. The conversational, yet formal style that is used. An engaging personality with real world examples and a wonderful entaglement of serious tones and wonderful, timely humor. No matter my political alignment, I must say that I enjoy listening to Mr. Powell speak. Just thought I'd throw that out there... Have a good day all!

Kinda Cool

I'm a bit of a nerd I suppose, so not everyone may find this cool, but if you enjoy a good TLC or Discovery channel show, then you might enjoy these pictures. These are from the new VW production facility in Dresden. Pretty impressive for an assembly plant, and check out another one of their signature car silos!

Next Year...

I'm not sure how anyone else feels about this, but I think a good goal for next year would be to somehow get passes to E3. I'm just throwing that out there. I'm not entirely sure how one goes about getting passes, but maybe by then someone who likes me will be in some associated with a company that is represented there. Someone needs to go work for Microsoft, preferable the Xbox division. Anyway, for all of you not paying attention thus far, just google away and see what you find. There are quite a few pictures out there and a gaggle of devoted bloggers utilizing the Xbox Blogger Bus.

Alive, with a degree

I'm not even certain how long its been since my last post. I haven't looked at my blog for quite sometime. Initially because I honestly didn't have time, and then because I was annoyed that I hadn't posted for so long, so now is as good a time as any.

So since my last post, I've worked my butt off to finish school. While I had nothing during finals week itself, I had two papers and two finals due during dead week, along with 35 hours of work. It was a bit stressful. On top of finishing college, I also traded in my old truck and bought a new-used car. A 2003 Alero for those curious. It gets much better gas mileage, has a sun roof and the a/c works, what more can ya ask for?

I'm still working at the ol restaurant, but desperately searching for a real job, something that gives me my own nights and weekends, like normal people have. Other than that, not a great deal has happened. I'm working pretty close to 40 hours a week, but at vastly varying times given the nature of the business. I have a few things in mind to post about and I'll try to do so soon. My goal is to post daily from henceforth. Wish me luck!

have a wonderful day!
