Hello again. It's been too long, too long my friend. I'm not always the most consistent poster, if you haven't figured that out yet. I truly have good intentions to post quite regularly, it just seems that my days are shorter than they used to be and I can never find time. Some day perhaps I'll be like Dooce, and post everyday. It's not for lack of content generally. I think of tons of things when I'm walking across campus, I should start dictating as I walk and then just post when I get back. Might warrant some weird looks, but what can you do?
Here's something that is actually on some sort of topic. I was selected for jury duty, about a month ago, but my case was canceled, so this morning was my backup date, and I actually had to report. It was actually fairly interesting, and I"m somewhat annoyed that I wasn't actually selected for the jury. The whole process is interesting to me, and I really enjoy the parties presenting their positions and the fact, etc. Granted we never really got to much of the real facts, but the beginning was fun. Perhaps in two years I'll actually get to be part of the jury...
Your interest in the process might soon turn to boredom. After a long day in a courtroom it isn't as much fun. Deliberating is fun though....after getting into the jury room you might look at each other for 30 seconds, then hold a vote to get an idea of what people are thinking, and see that everyone thinks he's guilty. Deliberation over! One minute justice. It could be a new TV show.
